Amex Platinum Business Card
The American Express Platinum Business card is a little different than other offers you may find out there. First of all they have a relatively low standard interest rate at 15.9%. Other cards have been offering more for their standard interest rate. This card is a business card, so to gain access to it you must prove that you have a business. Usually the business needs to be active for at least two years before you will receive the Amex Platinum Business card approval. The interest rate is variable. This means that it is subject to change at any time for specific reasons that are outlined in the terms and conditions. The terms and conditions are pretty standard for all the American Express cards.
The American Express Platinum Business credit card may be seen as the better option than the gold card. First it has no annual fee, where as the gold card has a 95 pound fee. The difference is in the interest rates. This card does have the interest rate. The interest rate can be as low as 14.9% depending on your business, but that is still a variable rate. There are other differences that could make this card the better of the American Express cards, depending on what you are looking for.
First of all you get 2% cash back on purchases for your business. This means supplies, tools, materials, and equipment can all offer you a reward. There is also a small business savings network. In this network you can save or receive discounts on Hertz, Eurostar, Holiday Inn, DHL, and other services.
The membership offers you additional cards with membership rewards. This can help those in your business go on business trips or buy the supplies you have authorized them to buy without needing your card.
The American Express Platinum Business card also has an introductory offer on balance transfers to some customers. You must qualify for these terms. The introductory rate is zero percent for six months. After six months the typical APR is 14.9%.
With this card it is really important that you pay off the balance in full and on time every month. There are associated late and missed payment fees that can cause you to lose the card. If you pay the balance in full and on time every month, you will avoid the interest charges.
As cards go, the interest rates and offers are competitive. It is up to you to decide what the card has to offer that may be better than another company or card from American Express. This card doesn’t have the no preset limit of the Gold card or the annual fee; however the interest rate and discounts could be a factor.
The only reward with this card is the 2% cash back on certain purchases. You will not earn airline miles to use for business travel. You can receive discounts though for certain travel aspects depending on where you are heading and when.
