Barclaycard Football Credit Card
The Barclaycard Football credit card is just one of the many offers you can get through Barclay, but is it the best card for you? In this review we will look at the benefits of this card to help you decide if it will work. Barclay works with Visa and MasterCard and is one of the only companies to be offering you an introductory rate on balance transfers and certain types of purchases.
As the name suggests this card is for the football fans. If you want to get some major discounts towards football tickets or other football related offers, this may be the card for you. Let’s look at the introductory offers. On purchases you get zero percent interest for three months from the time the account is open. This interest is only related to football season tickets. All other purchases are going to be the 14.9 percent variable interest rate. You also need to spend more than 250 pounds in order to get the zero percent interest offer.
The other introductory rate offer is on balance transfers. If you transfer a balance within the first thirty days of your account being open, you will have a zero percent interest on that balance for twelve months. After twelve months the interest rate will go back to the 14.9 percent. There is also a fee for this balance transfer of 2.5 percent of the total amount you have transferred. It is considered a handling fee.
This card offers rewards for specific things relating to football. You can earn reward points at certain retailers for football merchandise. You may also win Barclay’s Premier League match tickets and get access to other exclusive football offers, by having the card. These rewards have specific restrictions and procedures you must follow to take a part of them. This card is available to existing customers as well as new customers. This is a little different than their other cards. Their other cards are normally restricted to new customers for the introductory deals.
This card also is suited more for the football fan than any other card holder. If you aren’t going to utilize the rewards or benefits there are other cards that may be better for you. To get the card you need to have a good credit history, be at least 21, and have an income of 10,000 pounds or more a year. These policies are generally the same for all credit cards though the age may vary.
Cash withdrawals are the same as other cards at 27.9 percent. You also have the interest free period of 56 days as long as you pay your balance on time and in full every month. Barclay does restrict who they will award cards to and under what circumstances. In other words, if you have little to no credit you may have a higher interest rate than the standard. They may also restrict the introductory deal on the card if you are an existing customer.
