Barclaycard Platinum
If you want a card that has it all, you might want to consider the Barclaycard Platinum card. This card has some of the best options that are on the market at the moment, depending on what you are looking for. The Barclaycard Platinum has an introductory period on balance transfers, purchases, and it has rewards. It also has one of the lowest annual percentage rates on the market at the moment. To top off what looks to be a great deal there is no annual fee with this card.
When you review a potential card to have in your wallet, having it all can be a great thing. So, let’s look at what they are truly offering and how. With the balance transfers you can have a zero percent interest for 14 months. There are restrictions. They may not offer the deal to every customer. They have the right to take the deal off the market at any time. So if it looks good you may need to check that they are still going to offer this deal. Also consider that there is a 2.5 percent handling charge for the balance transfer.
Next they have a zero percent interest for three months on purchases. This means anything you purchase in the first three months is going to be interest free until that period is over. There are a couple of catches to this though. First the date of this offer starts as soon as the account opens, not when you receive the card. Second the allocation of payments will have you paying down the balance accruing the smallest amount of interest. In this case the balance transfers are typically paid off first, and then the promotional purchases, interest, standard purchases and balance transfers, and then the cash balances. In other words if you can’t pay off the introductory balance transfer before the end of the purchase offer, you will be paying interest on anything you charge in those first three months.
Cash withdrawals are going to be 27.9 percent interest and there is no introductory rate. This can get pretty expensive if you use the card for withdrawals or advances. It is best to use the card for the balance transfer deal only, rather than mixing to two if you want a really great deal.
This card offers rewards as we mentioned. You can get deals on holidays, travel, and car rentals depending on when you want to travel and what companies you want to work with. The deals will change during the time you have the account open. The deals are not reward points and you may not receive them all the time. Generally these deals are discount coupons in which you need to use your card in order to get the discount at the specific place.
Overall this card does have some helpful introductory rates as well as rewards. The annual percentage rate is certainly one of the best on the market at this time. Overall this is a good card to have.
