BMI Baby

BMI Baby is a credit card through Citibank.  This card is a MasterCard and the second most accepted card in the world.  You will have no problems using this card at hundreds of different retailers around the world.  When choosing a credit card it is important that you make the right choice.  You don’t want to keep switching cards, that is why we have decided to review the BMI Baby credit card for its offer to see if it is worth your application.

BMI Baby has an introductory period of 12 months with zero percent interest on balance transfers.  Many credit card companies have begun to remove these options from the market.  In fact there are just 85 cards offering an introductory rate on balance transfers.  This balance transfer option is the typical length, so it is really nothing special other than it is being offered for this card.  The balance transfer has a maximum fee of 3 percent.  This is a handling charge that most credit cards have.  There are only two or three on the market that will waive this handling fee.

BMI Baby doesn’t offer a purchase introductory rate.  There are other cards offering this option.  If you are looking for the card to transfer a balance and not use it for purchases at all, this would be a great card to have.  The purchase annual percentage rate is 16.9 percent.  This is two percent higher than the lowest standard variable annual percentage rate with introductory balance and transfer options.  The interest rate is fairly expensive, but again if you are getting the card just to transfer a balance from another card it is useful.

BMI Baby also offers rewards.  They have an introductory return flight reward for new card consumers.  They also have flight mile earning capabilities.  The return flight reward works in that you must spend a hundred pounds on the card anywhere in the first 90 days.  Once you have spent that money you are given a return flight.  You may not have a huge variety for the destination as some flights are not included in the promotion.    There is also an annual return flight bonus offer when you spend 3,000 pounds in a 12 month period.  This card asks that you spend quite a bit to get a free flight, which is no different than other flight miles cards.  The difference comes in how you earn them.  Other credit card offers give you a point per pound that you spend.  This means for 3,000 pounds on other cards you wouldn’t have a return flight earned.  So you do get the flight a little sooner than other cards.

The BMI Baby doesn’t have an annual fee.  They have online account management and security protection.  Overall the fact that you can earn flights rather quickly, and the balance transfer offer, can make this card appropriate for some.  The high interest rate on purchases is standard among most cards, and therefore competitive. It is just a little higher than some of the other options.
