Charlton Athletic Credit Card

Charlton Athletic offers a MasterCard to those who are a part of their club.  With the Charlton Athletic MasterCard you are receiving a card from the MBNA bank.  The card works in that every time you make a purchase a percentage of that purchase will go back to the club.  This investment back in the club helps you in the long run.  It is also a way to show your loyalty.  With the Charlton Athletic credit card you are earning rewards points that will help you as well.  For every pound you spend you will earn one reward point.  When you earn enough of these points there are discounts, merchandise, and other specials that you can take advantage of through the club.  When you use this card on club shop purchases you will also get a 10% discount.  When you are an exclusive cardholder you can earn 15 percent discounts at the Club Superstore.  As you can see this card is designed to help those who belong to the Charlton Athletic Club or make purchases at the club.  There are no outside benefits such as petrol discounts or merchandise discounts at other stores.

There are a few other benefits for the new consumer that may make this card something you are interested in to take advantage of the rewards benefits as well.  The Charlton Athletic card has zero percent interest for the first twelve months regarding balance transfers.  You do have a handling fee of 3 percent for the transfer.  This is similar to other cards on the market, so it is not the best reason to choose this card.  Obviously the rewards with Charlton Athletic are the main reason to obtain this card.

You also have an introductory period on purchases.  You have zero percent interest for three months on purchases.  This and the other introductory offer begins when the account is opened, not when you receive the card or transfer the balance.  You do need to transfer the balance within 2 months to receive the introductory rate.  After the introductory period is over the annual percentage rate is 15.9 percent.  This rate is variable.  In other words it can change with the market or because of your credit ratings.  Most cards have a universal default, which means anytime your credit rating decreases they can increase your interest rate for the added risk you pose.   The 15.9 percent interest is on an average standard.  Most cards have this interest rate or one percent higher.

Overall in our review we found this card to be rather standard.  It doesn’t have much that is different from other cards other than the rewards you get for the Charlton Athletic club.  You will still find the account service protection offered, no annual fee, and online account management.  For what the card offers it is a great card, so don’t get me wrong.
