Useful Financial Resources

Here I will detail many websites which have some very useful resources. Many of these are government websites and therefore give impartial advice.

Money Made Clear – This website explains about all different aspects of finance. If you are unsure of the ins and outs of a particular financial services, then this site can help. For example, you may want to find out more about Tracker Mortgages are and how they work. This site also has a phone number you can ring if you do not find what you are looking for on the website. This site is run by the FSA (financial services authority).

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/index.htm This is a link to the section of the main government website that deals with Money, Tax and Benefits. There is a lot of useful information about all three of these subjects. Take a look here if the Money Made Clear website does not answer all your questions.

Bank of England – The website for the Bank of England will not be able to help with individual advice on personal finance as such, but you can you find out useful  information on current bank rates, current inflation, inflation target, latest inflation report and many other reports and statistics on the economy and what the Bank of England plan for the future.

HM Revenue and Customs – Very useful website if you are a business owner, self employed or have queries relating to income tax. The site offers many online services such as registering for VAT, income tax, doing your tax return and many other tax related transactions.

Citizens Advice – This websites can be your first port of call if you need impartial advice about finance and indeed many other issues. You can find a wealth of information on this site and is worth bookmarking.

Insolvency.gov.uk – The website give you essential information regarding insolvency and if you feel that you are in a situation where this applies to you then this government website is worth a look.

Money Saving Experts – This website is not completely impartial. It is believed that it is in actual fact an affiliate website, but all the same there are some useful guides on this site to saving money. It’s more than a finance site, it’s a treasure trove of money saving guides. Although don’t just take there word for everything they say.
