Virgin Atlantic American Express Black Card

Virgin is one of the many credit card providers on the internet as well as in stores. When looking for a credit card that could help you out, there are several options.  You have bad credit, rewards, cash back, and other options.  With the Virgin Atlantic American Express Black Card you will have a bad credit credit card option with rewards.  Many of the cards that are helping you to get your credit increased will not offer rewards.  This is because they know the best offers come in the zero percent interest on balance transfers, but this card will offer you a bit of both.

It is not the best card for having bad credit.  It has one of the highest interest rates at the moment at 37.1 percent.  This interest rate can be as high as 57 percent depending on your situation.  This high interest rate will take away the annual fee normally associated with virgin cards.  This is a great help when you don’t have the income to support the annual fee.  The interest rate is subject to change for several reasons and may not be the awarded rate. The company may offer you a higher rate depending on your situation.  This can be a little tough, but remember it is for getting better credit and not for the purchases you could make with it.

To start off they have a zero percent interest rate for six months on balance transfers.  This is half of the normal introductory offer by other cards for good credit.  It at least gives you a chance to pay off a certain amount of your debt without incurring more.  The credit limit on these cards will not extend further than 2500 pounds and usually start with 250 pounds. This is a small amount, but again it does help to rebuild credit rather than for purchases.  They don’t offer a special purchase rate with this card.

There are rewards associated with the account.  You can earn 2 flying club miles for every pound you spend.  You also get a 6,000 bonus club miles for your first spend.  The first spend does have to be a certain amount, so check the terms and conditions.  This is similar to other credit cards.  The 2 to 1 earning is a little low.  Most cards offer even 1 to 1 pay for bonus points.

Overall in our search for great cards we have found the Virgin Atlantic American Express Black card to be a little high in interest and in how you earn points.  It is not the best card on the market, but it does serve a purpose for getting your credit back up to the points it should be.  It is not a guaranteed acceptance for bad credit, but they will take the time to review and 90 percent of the time they do award the card.  As a balance transfer card it is minimal, but useful to some consumers.
