Virgin Atlantic American Express White Card
The Virgin Atlantic American Express white card is very similar to their black card. It has a few things that are going to be different though. When you search for a card it is best to understand the features of the card in order to review your options for the best terms.
This card has a zero percent balance transfer option that lasts for six months. This is a very short period compared to other rewards cards. Most cards will have the 12 month option, though there are some that vary. There is a 3 percent handling fee associated with the balance transfer at any time. For the introductory period you must transfer the money within the first few weeks of opening the account to get the great deal.
There is no purchase special with this card. You will be charged 17.9 percent or higher from the date the account is open on purchases. This rate is rather high when you consider the other cards on the market. In fact you may even get a higher rate depending on your qualifications. The card is geared towards those that are a little riskier to take on as consumers. The card with a higher rate usually means the individuals pay more attention to how they spend to avoid the high charges. The Virgin card has a universal default option, which states any time your credit rating changes you could be charged a higher rate. There is no annual fee for this card, which makes it a bit more appealing to some individuals.
It is a rewards card. The rewards are flight miles. For every pound you spend you will earn one flying club mile. This is better than the black card because you can earn the points a little quicker. It is also in line with most of the other cards on the market at the moment. You can earn up to 3000 bonus miles for your first purchase. There is a specific amount you must spend to get those miles. In most cases it is more than 250 pounds. The flight miles can be used on any flight that is not subject to the restrictions. In other words there is not a particular airline you must fly on.
Overall the card has a short balance transfer period, no purchase introductory period, a higher annual percentage rate than most cards, and a rewards programme. If you need a card that offers rewards there are better offers. These better offers usually have tighter restrictions for the lower APR and rewards though. It is a great card for its purpose, if that is the only card or one of the only cards you will qualify for. The other terms and conditions will be close to the same as the other cards. The fees, cash withdrawals, and cash advances all have fees associated with them that may be a little expensive, but this is the same for most cards being offered.
